I think I'm calmer playing DnD ... I used to throw things or break things because I didn't like school, now I'm a lot calmer and I like it.

I like that you can pretty much do anything ...I love my character who is a Tiefling Rogue. Each bit of story continues and your character gets better and better.

To the Dungeon Master (Brian), may your quest continue as the BEST DM!

That was just so amazing, I got literal goose-pimples!

It’s obvious to see that Brian’s work allows the young people he works with the opportunity to explore their own feelings in a safe space through play. The overwhelming creativity and imagination bought to his sessions make all players feel included. It’s a joy to see young people with SEMH, who might ordinarily struggle with their own communication, thrive in a group setting. Players effectively problem solve, deal with conflicts and learn how to work in a team utilising the strengths of their peers around them. A truly innovative way of learning that allows the space to explore all parts of the curriculum without the students knowing it.

Brian is a natural DM (Dungeon master), it amazed me how well he could carry on the story each week! The sessions were consistently filled with enthusiasm, immersion and dedication from both Brian and the participants. The group collaborated really well together, they took risks which they might not feel able to do so in real life. Brian's sessions helped build on the client groups confidence and self-esteem, whilst working together as a team to support one another through their characters strengths and also differences. These sessions offer a space for participants to play different scenarios within the fantasy play, which then supported them with building more confidence within their reality.

Brian is a gifted storyteller who has the skills to get players from all walks of life involved in a campaign of Dungeons & Dragons. It was very impressive to witness how Brian supported those with different needs in his sessions. It's a genius way to get those with communication difficulties to socialise. He removes barriers and creates an easy way for a group to bond as they tackle challenges together in a safe environment

I love the way that D&D has captured the young peoples' imaginations - Not only do I see it's value through curriculum opportunities but I think there is a huge therapeutic benefit too. I'm thrilled that you've been able to share this with our very special young people.
Susan, Headteacher

He worked patiently and compassionately with challenging groups and in challenging circumstances...The students needed a teacher whom they could trust and rely on to give them back confidence and Brian did this. It is down to Brian’s determination, calm approach and good humour that all his A level and Diploma students achieved well

We enjoyed the workshop. We liked the trainer, space and equipment  - it could have been longer. Would we attend more workshops like this? YES!
